Getting Started with Polygon Explorer

The Polygon Blockchain Explorer is your window into the Polygon PoS network. Whether you want to confirm a transaction, check a wallet balance, audit a smart contract, or research on-chain activity, this guide will walk you through every feature available on polygonblockchainexplorer.com.

Step 1: Search by Transaction Hash

To verify a specific transaction, paste the TxHash into the search bar at the top of the page. A TxHash is a 66-character hexadecimal string (e.g., 0x4a3b...) provided by your wallet after you submit a transaction. The results page will show you confirmation status, gas used, value transferred, and the full event log.

Step 2: Look Up a Wallet Address

Paste any Ethereum-compatible address (0x...) into the search bar to view that wallet's POL balance, all token holdings, NFT inventory, and complete transaction history. You can bookmark any address for quick reference, and our notification system can alert you when new transactions arrive.

Step 3: Browse Live Blocks

The home page displays the latest blocks and transactions as they appear on the network in real time. Click any block number to see its full contents, or click any transaction hash in the block to jump to its detail page. This live feed is useful for monitoring network health and confirming that your transactions are being included in blocks.

Step 4: Explore Token Pages

Use the Tokens menu to search for any ERC-20 or NFT collection on Polygon. Token pages show market data, transfer history, top holders, and a link to the deployed smart contract. If a token's contract is verified, you can interact with it directly from the token page.

Step 5: Verify and Read Smart Contracts

Navigate to any contract address and click the Contract tab to see whether the source code has been verified. If it has, you can read all public state variables and call view functions without paying gas. Use the Write Contract tab with a connected wallet to execute transactions against the contract interface.
